The Second Announcement
We invite you to take part in the Scientific Conference “Astronomy at Lviv University”, which will take place in Lviv on September 14-17, 2021.
The conference is devoted to the 360th anniversary of Lviv University, the 250th anniversary of the Astronomical Observatory, and the 25th anniversary of the Department of Astrophysics.
The conference is organized by Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
The subjects of the conference are: history of science; physics of stars, interstellar mediums and galaxies; Sun and Solar System; extragalactic astronomy and cosmology; high energy astrophysics; geospace and artificial satellites of the Earth.
The languages of the conference are Ukrainian and English.
The form of the conference is mixed: it is a regular conference with the possibility of online presentations of reports by those who could not come. Quarantine requirements to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at all meetings will be met.
The opening of the conference will take place on September 14 at 10:00 in the Assembly Hall of the main building of the University (University Street, 1).
Plenary and sectional meetings will be held on September 14-17, 2021 in the auditoriums of the Faculty of Physics (8 and 8a, Kyrylo & Mephodiy Street).
Plenary sessions: 9.30 — 13.00, section sessions: 15.00 — 18.30.
There are no conference fees at our conference.
The deadline for the registration of participants is September 3, 2021.
Arrival of participants — 13-14 September, departure — 17-18 September.
The conference program includes the following events: welcome party (September 14), excursions and a joint-friendly dinner (September 16), a trip to the Countryside Observation Station of the Astronomical Observatory, and participation in the event on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Stanislav Lem (September 17).
